EROPA TERIAK SOAL DEFISIT DAGANG, TAPI SAAT PANAS MELANDA... MEREKA MALAH BERLARI KE PRODUK CHINA.
Selama bertahun-tahun Uni Eropa menuduh China membanjiri pasar dengan barang murah, subsidi besar, dan kelebihan produksi. Mereka bicara soal "kemandirian industri", "mengurangi ketergantungan", bahkan mengancam pembatasan dagang.
Tapi kenyataan di lapangan menghantam keras. Gelombang panas terburuk dalam sejarah Eropa datang.
Rakyat panik. Permintaan AC meledak. Dan mayoritas yang dibeli? AC buatan China.
Midea, Haier, dan Gree menguasai sekitar 32% pasar AC Eropa, sementara tidak ada satu pun merek Uni Eropa yang masuk jajaran lima terbesar.
Ironis? Sangat. Uni Eropa mengeluh defisit dagang dengan China mencapai €360 miliar tahun lalu, bahkan kuartal pertama tahun ini sudah menyentuh €98 miliar, tertinggi sejak 2022.
Mereka ingin mengurangi ketergantungan. Tapi saat rakyat kepanasan, yang dicari tetap produk China.
Kenapa? Karena lebih murah, lebih cepat tersedia, dan desainnya memang dibuat khusus untuk aturan rumit di Eropa. Sementara politisi sibuk pidato, perusahaan China sibuk berinovasi. Mereka membaca regulasi Eropa, mendesain produk agar lolos aturan, lalu menguasai pasar.
Inilah kenyataan perang ekonomi modern. Bukan siapa yang paling banyak bicara. Tapi siapa yang paling cepat membuat produk yang benar-benar dibutuhkan pasar.
Uni Eropa sekarang berada di persimpangan.NMelindungi industri dalam negeri atau membiarkan konsumen terus membeli produk China yang lebih kompetitif.
Satu hal yang jelas... Kalau industri sendiri tidak mampu bersaing, tarif dan pidato tidak akan menyelesaikan masalah. Pasar selalu memilih produk yang dianggap paling bernilai.
